On June 23 we learned about the regrettable statements made by the Colombian national leader, Iván Duque, who, referring to the political situation in our country, pointed out that it is necessary to consolidate the rupture of the FANB, instead of a military solution of a foreign character. This new act of stolidity, is typical from those who, in their blindness and despair, refuse to understand the failures of each attempt to disintegrate the homeland which gave them freedom.

unoCaracas, 21 June 2019

Good evening, and thank you for coming.

This has been a short, but crucial, visit for me – the first-ever official mission by any UN High Commissioner for Human Rights to Venezuela. I will leave Caracas shortly but I leave behind a presence in the country – again, a first in Venezuela for the UN Human Rights Office. We have reached an agreement with the Government for a small team of human rights officers to be based here, with the mandate to provide technical assistance and advice, as well as – importantly – to continue to monitor the human rights situation in Venezuela.

This Friday, at night, the High Commissioner of the United Nations Organization for Human Rights, Michelle Bachelet, ended her official visit to the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, after having fulfilled a broad agenda of work, from the past June 19.

On her arrival at Simón Bolívar International Airport, in Maiquetía, the High Commissioner thanked the invitation made by the Head of State, Nicolás Maduro, as well as his cooperation and commitment with the Office, including the tour of his technical team last March.

The visit of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, Michelle Bachelet, is a transcendent step to strengthen the rapprochement and cooperative relations between the Venezuelan State and the multilateral organization, assured the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduros Moros.

These statements were offered by the Head of State after culminating the meeting with the High Commissioner who, for three days fulfilled an important work agenda by holding meetings with the representatives of the public powers who exposed the consequences of the unilateral coercive measures imposed by the government of United States through the modalities of financial and economic blockade.

On Thursday, June 20, the last Plenary Meeting of the Conference on Disarmament (CD) was held, under the Venezuelan presidency.

Ambassador Jorge Valero at UN-Geneva presented the final report to the CD giving an account of his management. The Bolivarian diplomat said that the CD, under the leadership of Venezuela, has advanced towards substantive negotiations on legally binding instruments, which contribute to the building of a world in which nuclear weapons and other weapons of mass destruction disappear, which constitute the main threat to the peace of the nations.

The UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Michelle Bachelet, arrived on Wednesday in the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela after the invitation made by the head of State, Nicolás Maduro Moros, last November, with the aim of showing the devastating effects of the economic and financial blockade imposed by the United States on the Venezuelan economy.

The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro Moros, during his speech in the framework of the second anniversary of the Great Mission Chamba Juvenil, welcomed the High Commissioner, and also former President of the Republic of Chile, Michelle Bachelet, to the country, who arrived at the Maiquetía International Airport, in the state of La Guaira, after 6pm.

Without a doubt, the aggression that has been carried out in the past months against democracy and social peace, and against the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, are unparalleled in the tense relations between the peoples of Our America and the dominant corporate elite of the U.S. This comprehensive, unconventional war unleashed against the Venezuelan people is the current expression of a complex historic struggle that has different fronts and expressions:

In order to guarantee the proper attention and protection to all Venezuelans residing in the Republic of Colombia after the rupture of diplomatic relations between both countries, on Tuesday the Bolivarian Government reported that as of this date, the delivery of passports and extensions managed by nationals in the neighboring country, may be withdrawn only at the headquarters of the Administrative Service of Identification, Migration and Immigration (SAIME), in Caracas.

From the Simón Bolívar International Airport of Maiquetía, in La Guaira, the People’s Power Minister for Health, Carlos Alvarado, and representatives of the Red Cross and Red Crescent, received on behalf of the Bolivarian people and Government, the second shipment of humanitarian technical assistance.

The arrival of 24 tons of medicines and medical supplies, was held on Monday with the aim of complementing the health requirements of the Venezuelan population, according to cooperation agreements between the National Government and the International Federation of Red Cross Societies and Red Crescent.

Dear Comrades:

WORLD FEDERATION OF DEMOCRATIC YOUTH (WFDY)

Receive an affectionate and combative greeting from the National Executive Committee of the Communist Youth of Venezuela (JCV) and all our militancy, before the realization of the international solidarity campaign “Imperialism: Hands off Venezuela!” To promote from the World Federation of Democratic Youth (WFDY) with the objective of denouncing the interference of imperialism in the affairs of the Venezuelan people.

This Friday, the Bolivarian Government informed through a Communiqué that the High Commissioner of the United Nations Organization for Human Rights, Michelle Bachelet, will make an official visit to the South American country from June 19 to 21, after the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro Moros, extended the invitation to him in November 2018.
