The People’s Power Minister for Foreign Relations, Jorge Arreaza, highlighted on Wednesday the commitment ratified by the governments of Venezuela and Russia to respect and defend International Law, referring to the meeting held in Moscow by the Executive Vice-president, Delcy Rodriguez and the Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, in which they addressed the interference policy of US imperialism.

Madam Vice President,

We are very happy to welcome you and your delegation to Moscow and to be able to meet at the Foreign Ministry.

We maintain very close contacts. Since the start of 2019, I have met with my counterpart Jorge Arreaza; Vladimir Padrino Lopez, Defence Minister, and your colleague, Tareck El Aissami, Vice President in charge of economic issues, have also visited us here.

With the intention of strengthening economic and cooperation agreements between the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and the Russian Federation, Executive Vice President Delcy Rodríguez held a meeting with Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov in Moscow.

In this regard, Rodríguez indicated that progress has been made on new agreements between the two nations.

The Executive Vice President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, held a meeting with the Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation, Sergey Lavrov, from spaces of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Moscow, in order to strengthen bonds of brotherhood and cooperation between Both nations.

During this meeting, Rodríguez highlighted the gratitude on the part of the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro Moros and the venezuelan people, for the solidarity that the Eurasian Government has shown with the homeland in the face of interventionist aggressions.

This Tuesday, the president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro Moros, confirmed that some months ago, senior officials of the Bolivarian Government have maintained contacts with representatives of the administration of Donald Trump under his authorization.

“If President Donald Trump someday wanted to talk seriously about the relations of the United States and Venezuela (…) make a plan to regularize and resolve this conflict, we are always prepared to talk”, said the national president, during the inauguration of the passenger terminal La Guaira – Naiguatá.

The Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela denounced the United States on Tuesday before the Security Council of the United Nations Organization (UN), condemning every one of the illegal actions and violations to the international law undertaken by his government against the economy and sovereignty of the Venezuelan people.

As part of the visit to Russia of the high-level delegation of the Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, the Vice-minister for Europe of the Venezuelan Foreign Ministry, Yván Gil, held a meeting on Tuesday with the Russian Vice-minister of Foreign Affairs, Sergey Riabkov.

The cordial meeting revolved around continuing to strengthen ties of friendship, cooperation and joint action between the two countries on the international stage.

Russian Foreign Vice-minister Sergey Riabkov said Tuesday that his government warned the United States about a possible blockade against Venezuela and Washington’s “hasty measures” against the South American country.

Comment by the Information and Press Department on Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s talks with Executive Vice President of Venezuela Delcy Rodriguez

On August 21, Moscow will host talks between Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Executive Vice President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela Delcy Rodriguez.

The Executive Vice President of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez and the President of the Russian – Venezuelan High Level Intergovernmental Commission (CIAN), Yuri Ivánovich Borísov, held a working meeting in the city of Moscow, to strengthen the cooperation maintained by both nations since Several years ago in different areas.

The Venezuelan Vice President traveled to the Eurasian country to strengthen the exchange of knowledge and consolidate the new strategies that point to the development of our country.
